WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

The Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit has been evacuated while police investigate several suspicious bags that were found on Tuesday.

Employees and visitors can be seen standing in the parking lot of the sprawling campus that's located at 6600 West Maple Road, near Drake in West Bloomfield.

FOX 2 has learned the owners of the duffle bags could not be located which prompted the initial call to police and everyone was evacuated as a precaution. Several fire crews are also on standby in the parking lot awaiting the arrival of the Michigan State Bomb Squad which is also responding to the scene.
