Tucson Police have arrested a 24-year-old man who they say was caught in a sting trying to lure a minor for sex.

The victim's mother reported her daughter had inappropriate exchanges with an adult male over Facebook. During the investigation, detectives determined the suspect had arranged to meet the 13-year-old with the intention of engaging in sexual acts for money.

Police discovered the suspect pretended to be younger than he was to make the victim feel comfortable.

He arranged to meet with the victim on April 2 -- and U.S. Marshals and Tucson Police were waiting for him.

The suspect, 24-year-old Alexander Zumot, was booked into the Pima County Jail on charges of aggravated luring of a minor for sex, unlawful age misrepresentation, and attempted child prostitution.

Police believe Zumot may have other victims. Anyone with information is asked to call authorities.

Police recommend that parents regularly monitor their children's Facebook and social media accounts.
