WIKIEUP, Ariz. -

Investigators in Yavapai County have released a 911 call from a teenage boy who survived a plane crash last week.

13-year-old Cody William Chan was flying with his mother and father when their plane crashed near Wikieup. The boy's mother, Josephine Simos Chan, was killed in the crash.

In the call, you can hear the boy describe an injury to his head.

Cody: "Ma'am I think there's something wrong with my head."

911: "What do you think is wrong with your head, Cody?"

Cody: "On the right back side it's bulging a lot."

911: "Ok I want you to stay very calm and just keep laying down where you're at Cody. Your shock is wearing off and your blood is going to start pumping pretty heavily."

Cody: "I think my shock has worn off but it still hurts a lot."

911: "Yeah, I'm pretty sure that you probably hit your head pretty hard even though you don't remember it."

Cody: "Yeah, probably not."

The crash happened near Wikieup, about 40-miles southeast of Kingman.

The boy called using a cell phone and helped rescuers find them.

He was treated for broken bones at a hospital in Phoenix. His father, Vidson Yaukong Chan, also survived.

The family is from Bakersfield, California.
