Austin Police have charged a teen after they say he fled the scene of an accident.

According to police, on March 28, 17-year-old Jaquise Fredricks was traveling in a 2003 Buick Century on Goodwin Ave. and ran a stop sign. He collided with a 1997 Buick Park Ave that was traveling on Gunter St.

When police arrived to the scene, witnesses stated that Fredricks had fled the scene jumping fences in people's backyards. Air 1 and Canine responded and located Fredricks hiding inside a trash can on Neal St.

The victim was transported to UMC Brackenridge.

Fredricks was charged with failure to stop and render aid, a third degree felony.
