A 20-year-old man faces several charges after being accused of dragging a Philadelphia police officer three blocks Sunday with his car.
According to the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office, Naim Woodley was charged with Aggravated Assault, Resisting Arrest and other related charges Monday.
Woodley is accused of dragging the officer, who was on patrol Sunday in the area of the 3100 block of G Street.
Investigators say the officer had heard a person screaming in the area and was out investigating when the incident occurred.
The district attorney's office says bail was set at $250,000 for Woodley. He is scheduled to appear in court again later this month.
Police say the officer was taken to a nearby hospital for scrapes and cuts to the left hand and pain to the lower back.
Police have not released the name of the officer.
Waking up to dense fog today. Poor visibility slowing us down.
But at least it's mild. Temps are about 15-degrees above average today, despite the continued clouds & drizzle. High in the lower 60s.
Our next cold front comes through tomorrow, with rain, especially on Friday afternoon. With the blast of cold air that follows, we'll probably have a dry day on Saturday, and the chance of a Sunday wintry mix into the afternoon and evening. Stay tuned!
