Austin police are searching for the suspect in a fatal shooting that happened over the weekend, just a couple blocks from the Capitol.
Police say there was an argument between two groups of people early Sunday morning and someone pulled out a gun.
A memorial has been set up out here for the victim.
He's been identified as 23-year-old Bennie Desean Heslip. Friends say he went by Sean and he lived in Pflugerville.
According to police, Heslip was shot around 3 a.m. Sunday. Paramedics tried to do CPR, but Heslip was transported to UMC Brackenridge where he died.
When police got here, they shut down the area and tried to speak with witnesses.
Friends say the argument may have been over a woman, but it's unclear if Heslip was the intended target.
Sunday, friends gathered for a candlelight vigil and left candles and notes here.
Friends tell us they're shocked this happened.
"It's just crazy, you never think it would hit you. You hear about it all the time, but never think it would be one of your friends that's gone. All we got to do is live on his memories and I know it's hitting his family hard," said Larry Johnson, a friend of the victim.
Police say a black sedan with three or four men and women in it was seen leaving this area and heading toward I-35. Investigators are trying to speak with those people. They believe a man who was inside that car is the shooter.
Heslip worked at a shoe store in Round Rock. The manager told FOX 7 that he was a good person, and very motivated, and that this is a big loss.
