With news that North Korea may target Austin for a nuclear attack, an old civil defense film on surviving a nuclear attack produced by KTBC in 1960 has surfaced on the internet.
The film, Target…Austin, Texas, was produced in 1960. It is narrated by former KTBC reporter Cactus Pryor and shows what might happen if a nuclear missile were to detonate in Central Texas.
Some suggestions from the film include stockpiling at least two weeks of supplies and riding out the disaster in a fallout shelter.
So watch the film to see some tips or just to enjoy a look back to Austin's last nuclear scare.
