BUCKEYE, Ariz. -

We're getting a look at the Buckeye Police K-9 that was shot while chasing down a bank robbery suspect Tuesday night.

The Emergency Animal Clinic in Avondale posted a picture of the police dog on Facebook, saying they treated him for a gunshot wound.

You can see the bandage on his front leg.

Fortunately, the bullet just grazed him and he will be OK.

Police say they sent the K-9 after a bank robbery suspect, in the area of 221st Ave and Van Buren. They say the suspect pulled out a gun and fired towards the dog. Officers fired back, killing the suspect.

That suspect has been identified as 59-year-old Mark Warner of Surprise.
