PHILADELPHIA -

Some Roxborough residents say they are outraged over a plan to build a zip line in Wissahickon Valley Park.

More than 100 concerned residents packed the Schuylkill Center Wednesday night to speak out against the proposed zip line. Many residents say they believe the zip line would cause problems.

"Vandalism is a big concern, I also live in the neighborhood so traffic is a huge concern," Janet McHale said.

Other residents believe the zip line would destroy the park's natural habitat.

Representatives of Philadelphia Parks and Recreation have been reaching out to the community, but some residents feel the department hasn't done enough to get the word out.

A company has proposed building the zip line in connection with the city and the Fairmount Park Commission.

The parks and rec department says they've studied the potential traffic in the area and don't believe it would be an issue.

The proposed zip line would still need to be approved before it is built.

    NICE EASTER WEEKEND

The first half of the holiday weekend has been great and Easter Sunday looks just as nice. Clouds thin out late tonight with temperatures falling back to the 40s.

Initially it'll be jacket weather early Sunday morning but plenty of sunshine will warm us into the 60s by afternoon.  High temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than Saturday.

It will be noticeably cooler and breezy at the shore with highs in the low 50s.  Quiet conditions continue into Monday.
