PHILADELPHIA -

An alleged pilot imposter who made it into a plane's cockpit at Philadelphia International Airport last week will have to wait for his next court appearance.

The alleged impersonator, Philippe Jeannard, was supposed to appear in court Wednesday, but his public defender never showed up.

Jeannard is facing both federal and state charges for pretending to be an Air France pilot and entering the cockpit of a US Airways plane last week.

Investigators say the 61-year-old doctored his mother's Air France ID card to gain access, and also carried several items to make him look like a true employee of the airline.

His court appearance will be rescheduled for some time next week.
