SEPTA Officers Rush To Aid Cashier Suffering Heart Attack

Two SEPTA police officers are being called heroes after they rushed to help a cashier who was suffering from a heart attack at a station in Philadelphia Monday.

Officers Lynne Samanns and Dwayne Morrison were patrolling the Frankford Transportation Center Monday morning when they got a radio call that a cashier was having heart trouble.

"We noticed the individual on the ground, unconscious," Officer Samanns told FOX 29.

The officers say when the cashier stopped breathing, they immediately started CPR. When an automated external defibrillator (AED) was brought over, the officers continued to administer medical care until an ambulance arrived.

Officer Samanns says she has performed CPR six times in her 23-year career but Monday was a little different because she knew the victim.
