NACO, Ariz. (AP) - Federal authorities say a Mexican woman has been arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle nearly $2 million worth of drugs into southern Arizona.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Naco Port of Entry say the woman had more than 150 pounds of drugs in her pickup truck including heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine.
CBP officers referred 54-year-old Emilia Reyes-Balderrama for an additional inspection of her vehicle Wednesday.
During the search, officers say they found nine pounds of heroin, nearly 80 pounds of cocaine and almost 64 pounds of methamphetamine.
They say the heroin has a street value of about $126,000, the cocaine more than $725,000 and the meth about $987,000.
The drugs and vehicle were seized and Reyes-Balderrama was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
