Shooting outside light rail station in Phoenix

Posted: Updated:

Someone was shot outside the light rail station at 44th Street and Washington Thursday night.

Police say several people got into an argument, when one of them pulled out a gun and threatened to fire it.

Moments later, that person did fire what he says was supposed to be a "warning shot," and the victim was hit. That victim suffered a minor injury and is expected to be ok.

The shooter stuck around and waited for police. Phoenix Police say alcohol appears to be involved and the victim does not want to prosecute.

They added that the shooter could face a Shannon's Law violation.

Light rail service was not interrupted.
