Pedestrian dies after being hit by train

A 20-year-old died Tuesday after being struck by a train in San Marcos.

Authorities say around 1:40 p.m. Tyler Rhein Schobert stepped in front of a train on a track near the 600 block of E. Hopkins Street.

Schobert was transported to UMC Brackenridge, where he later died as a result of his injuries.

The incident is still under investigation.
