World Leaders To Attend Pope Francis' Official Installation

VATICAN CITY -

The Vatican expects delegations representing 33 Christian orders and several other faiths as well as 132 governments for Tuesday's official installation of Pope Francis.

Vice President Joe Biden arrived in Rome late Sunday to join other leaders from around the world for the formal ceremony to officially install the new pontiff.

The presidents of Zimbabwe and Taiwan land in Italy on Tuesday.

Pope Francis continued to break traditions over the weekend, greeting the crowd of people waiting outside the gates of Saint Anna's before and after the mass with Vatican residents.

Francis stepped out the side entrance to the church, surprising the followers gathered there.

He spent about 15 minutes with the crowd before leaving for Saint Peter's Square, where he gave his First Angelus blessing to the crowd of hundreds of thousands.

The new pontiff delivered off the cuff remarks from the studio window overlooking the square, not reading from a written speech – like his predecessors have done – and only speaking in Italian instead of several languages, which is the norm.

More than 1 million pilgrims and tourists are expected to arrive in Rome, along with more than 100 delegations and heads of state, to be part of the ceremony making Pope Francis the new head of the Catholic Church, Fox's Lauren Green reported from Rome.
