They say the best things in life are free...and the concerts at Auditorium Shores this week for SXSW definitely are.
You won't find hip-hop or heavy metal at Auditorium Shores today. The vibe is more of a bluesy, folksy nature...all paying tribute to the late great Levon Helm.
Bands like Nicki Bluhm and the Gramblers, James Hunter and pedal steel extraordinaire Robert Randolph & The Family Band will take the stage.
With blue skies and a gentle breeze, this is something all ages could enjoy.
Austinite Tammie Stewart was really digging it.
"Free music, beautiful day, beautiful people, just amazing! I'm very overstimulated. This is my third day. I'll be here all day. And there's so much talent, so much beauty, I'll be ready after this to take a nap," Stewart said.
And yes, big pop acts like Justin Timberlake and Prince will be performing across town tonight for SXSW, but Stewart's not going anywhere.
"Well I don't have a badge, but we don't need no stinking badges! There's so much good music, I couldn't get any happier," she said.
