South By Southwest partiers are keeping e-m-s and local hospitals very busy!
Paramedics responded to 72 incidents in the downtown area yesterday, in a 12 hour span alone,
and 47 of those patients were taken to area hospitals.
No one was seriously injured, however there were several minor car accidents.
Most were alcohol related.
The medical director at U-M-C -Brackenridge says if you want to stay out of the e-r, don't overdo it with booze..
They are seeing a lot of alcohol-related trauma including people falling, twisting an ankle, maybe cutting or bruising themselves, dehydration and run-ins with cars.
The 9-1-1 call volume for last night was more than double from Wednesday and Thursday night.
And crews say that makes it about 20 times the number of calls they get on a normal night.
