The LA Times is reporting some agreement within a group of eight Senators working on immigration reform when it comes to outlining a path to citizenship.
Some of their aides say illegal immigrants would have to register with Homeland Security, file federal income taxes and pay a fine.
The timeline on applying to be a permanent resident status is still up in the air, but could probably be at least a decade.
