Researchers Release New 10-Year 'Mortality Index'

Posted: Updated:

A new study reveals some clues as to whether you are on the verge of dying in the next decade.

Researchers claim a simple checklist can help doctors estimate whether their patients over 50 will be alive 10 years from now.

Doctors can better treat their patients based on that checklist, which was reported in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

According to a "mortality index" by San Francisco researchers, some of the bad signs include feeling winded after walking several blocks and having trouble pushing a chair across the room.

There are a total of 12 bad signs, but researchers say the checklist is not meant to alter anyone's lifestyle.

Researchers suggest seeing your doctor to complete the mortality index test.
