PHILADELPHIA -
A 55-year-old man was arrested earlier this week in connection to the theft of hundreds of gallons of diesel fuel from a Philadelphia Wawa in a case that involved a specially equipped truck to pump the fuel.
According to Philadelphia police, Keith Jones was arrested at his home Monday.
Police accuse Jones of parking a Stroehmann box truck over a Wawa parking lot diesel fuel pump on February 4 in order to steal more than 500 gallons of fuel worth around $2,000.
The truck was parked in the parking lot of the Wawa on the 8200 block of Bartram Avenue for 40 minutes to allow Jones to alledgedly connect to the diesel supply and pump the fuel, according to police.
The truck was later found in Camden. Police say it was equipped with an electric pump, hoses and two big tanks.
