Loop 303 back open after deadly crash

Northbound and southbound lanes of Loop 303 have reopened following a fatal multi-vehicle crash.

The crash occurred about 3:30 p.m. Friday at Loop 303 and Greenway Road. The roadway reopened about 5:30 p.m.

82-year-old Roger Whitehead, of Surprise, died at the scene, and several children between the ages of 5 and 9 were injured.

The circumstances of the crash are under investigation.
