Man killed in suspected hit & run in S Austin

A man is dead in what authorities suspect was a hit-and-run in South Austin Friday morning. The victim's body was found along the service road of I-35 near William Cannon and Slaughter Lane.

At around 3:50 a.m., authorities received 911 calls stating that a man's body was seen lying alongside the roadway, just outside of the Ladera apartment complex. When police officers arrived, the man was pronounced dead on the scene.

Authorities currently have no description of the suspected vehicle in this accident, and ask anyone with information to contact them.

The southbound access road near William Cannon had been closed for about two hours, but has since been re-opened.
