If you're a single guy and you've been trying to find love, but you're not having luck, you can now rent a girlfriend online. Fakeinternetgirlfriend.com is a website that allows you to rent an online girlfriend to impress your friends, family or your boss.
For $250 a month, your fake internet girlfriend comes with Facebook and Twitter accounts. She posts on your social media sites, and she leaves phone messages, plus up to 10 text messages a month.
The website, which says it only employs females, even allows you to pick the type of girl you want.
With descriptions like "distant but loving", "social and upbeat", or quirky and misunderstood.
"People sign up for one reason; It feels good and it's fun," said Pat Love, E.d.D., a relationship expert in Austin.
Love warns having a fake girlfriend can cause real effects to one's psyche.
"When you have a fantasy, when you relive a good time with someone or you look forward to being with a real live date you have this wonderful chemical high and you do get the high, even with a pretend person," said Love.
We did reach out to the website's creators, but did not receive a response. Fakeinternetgirlfriend.com requires a minimum 3-month membership upon signing up.
