He is only a freshman but Republican Senator Ted Cruz is already getting a reputation for being outspoken. Even some members of his own party have asked him to tone it down a bit. Most recently he had been criticized for his hardline opposition to the nomination of Chuck Hagel for Secretary of Defense.
