PHILADELPHIA -

It may seem surprising, but Twitter and Facebook are turning into useful tools for Philadelphia police.

In searching for the cousins who are suspected of beating and robbing a cab driver in Southwest Philly, police took to social media prior to the arrests to let them know they were on their way.

Detective Joe Murray posted on Twitter: "Congrats cabbie carjackers. You've got our attention. Now enjoy your last few days as free men."

FOX 29's Stephanie Esposito has more in this video report on how investigators are using social media to catch criminals.
