Austin Police have charged a woman in connection with the death of her roommate.
Police say on Feb. 15, 21-year-old Kennet Rachelle Haywood got into a physical altercation with her 18-year-old roommate at an apartment located on Rutland Dr. At one point Haywood pulled out a folding pocketknife and stabbed her roommate.
The victim was transported to the hospital where she later died from her injuries. Haywood was also transported from a suspected pill overdose.
Haywood was charged with murder, a first degree felony.
