Longhorn legend Ricky Williams and New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees headlined the Texas Sports Hall of Fame class inducted on Monday.
Williams was originally from California but went on to win the Heisman trophy at the University of Texas.
Brees was an all-state quarterback and guided Westlake to a 1996 state title. He went on to become the Big 10's career passing leader at Purdue and was the Super Bowl MVP with the Saints in 2010. This past season Brees made history by breaking Johnny Unitas' record of 47 straight games with a touchdown pass.
University of Texas Softball legend Cat Osterman will also be inducted along with Saquille O'Neal who played high school basketball in Texas.
Walt Garrison, Eddie Matthews, and Lubbock baseball coaching legend Bobby Moegle also were inducted.
