The Texas Attorney General's Fugitive and Special Investigations Units arrested 27-year-old Deondre J. Jenkins after they say he trafficked and forced a 16-year-old girl into prostitution.
Authorities say Jenkins recruited the girl, who was a runaway and compelled her to engage in at least 100 paid sexual encounters. Jenkins retained the proceeds for his personal financial benefit.
Investigators say Jenkins transported the teen to Austin, San Antonio and Dallas. He also used online advertisements to solicit paid sexual encounters with the teen. Investigators traced Jenkin's most recent online ad to Milwaukee, Wis. Milwaukee police officers successfully located the victim and took her into protective custody. She was later transported back to Austin.
Jenkins was arrested Wednesday after he returned to Texas. He is charged with trafficking a child for sexual purpose, a first degree felony.
