DNA links man to 2010 kidnapping case

Posted: Updated:

Authorities have charged a man after police matched his DNA to a kidnapping and sex assault case from 2010.

Police say on August 22, 2010, 23-year-old Emmannuel Jaimes forced a woman into his truck at the Kool Corner convenience store located in the 6400 block of Manor Road.

The victim told police that she was waiting on her friend to pick her up and thought that it was her friend driving a different vehicle when Jaimes waived for her to come to the vehicle.

Jaimes grabbed the victim by her hair and forced her into the truck. He then displayed a knife and asked if she had any money as he drove away.

Jaimes drove to Derby Cove and parked in cul-de-sac where he sexually assaulted the victim. The victim was able to escape and call police.

On Sept. 18, 2012, APD received a notice from DPS that DNA collected from the victim matched Emmannuel Jaimes.

Jaimes has been charged with aggravated kidnapping, a first degree felony.
