Posted: Updated:

Pflugerville Police are looking for a man they say attempted to kidnap a girl who was walking to school with her friend Wednesday morning.

According to police, the girls ages nine and ten were walking to Murchison Elementary School on the hike and bike trail in the 2500 block of Quiet Water Pass.  According to the girls, a man walked up behind one of them and put his hand on her shoulder.  The two girls began to scream and the suspect put his hand over the mouth of the girl.

The other girl began to run away.  As she did the, the suspect lost his grip on the girl, and she also fled.  They both ran to their school where they alerted the staff.

Investigators believe the suspect may have left the scene in a red colored truck.  Police received calls on February 1 that a red extended cab or crew cab truck with rust spots on the side was seen in the same area.

The suspect is a white male with a goatee or beard that is red or brown in color.  He is approximately 5'7" to 5'9" tall.  He had a slender build and may have had blue eyes.  He was last seen wearing a light gray hoodie and dark gray sweat pants with black or dark shoes.
