Austin police have charged a man they said stole a firearm from a vendor at a gun show.
According to police, Avery Bouldin-Whiting swiped a silver revolver from a display table at the Texas Premier Gun Show, while his accomplice distracted the gun owner. Bouldin-Whiting quickly left the table and walked to the restroom. A witness followed him and alerted gun show staff.
The witness told staff that he believed Bouldin-Whiting stuffed the gun in his pants.
Officers detained Bouldin-Whiting as he was walking towards the exit. The gun was located in Bouldin-Whiting's back pocket.
Bouldin-Whiting was charged with theft of firearm, a state jail felony.
