NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A woman visiting from Australia was sexually assaulted in Manhattan over the weekend. Police are now on the hunt for her attacker.

The 20-year-old woman had just gotten out of a cab when she was dragged from behind into an alleyway near Madison Ave. and East 58th Street.

Police say the man then raped her.  The assault occurred at about 3:35 am on Sunday.

The NY Post reported the woman had just left the Lavo nightclub and had gotten into a cab, but after an argument with the driver got out.

The rapist is described by police as Black, 35-40 years old, approximately 6'2" tall and weighing 190 lbs.

He was wearing dark clothing at the time of the assault.

The NYPD released a sketch of the suspect on Tuesday.
