Man charged with sexually assaulting woman outside local bar

Posted: Updated:

An Austin man has been charged after police say he sexually assaulted a woman outside a local bar.

According to police, on Feb. 2, 30-year-old Jason Neal Sibley confronted a woman whom he had been dancing with inside Mojoes Bar and Grill. Sibley then forced her to a secluded area behind the club, where he sexually assaulted her.

Police say the woman screamed and begged for Sibley to stop. Club security heard her cries for help and as they came to her aid, they saw Sibley getting off the woman and fleeing the scene.

A witness also saw the incident and identified the suspect. Police say Sibley's identification was scanned to enter the club and he was seen on surveillance video wearing the same cloths as the witnesses saw him wearing when he was fleeing the scene.

Sibley was charged with sexual assault, a second degree felony.
