A report commissioned by the Paterno family suggests the Freeh Report in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal is "factually wrong, speculative and fundamentally flawed."
The report was released Sunday by the Paterno family and was put together by a panel of experts, including former U.S. Attorney General Dick Thornburgh.
The report is available on the Paterno family's website.
In response to the report, a statement was issued by Louis Freeh, who conducted the Freeh Report commissioned by the Penn State University Board of Trees following the Sandusky scandal.
In the statement, Freeh says he respects the right of the Paterno family to hire private lawyers and former government officials to conduct public media campaigns, but also said the new report doesn't change the facts established in the Freeh Report or alter its conclusions.
"Joe Paterno's own testimony under oath before the grand jury that investigated this horrific case is of critical importance."
Also on Sunday, Penn State responded to the report, saying the Freeh investigation findings have been used to improve university operations.
"The goal of this investigation (Freeh Report) was to uncover facts and identify where failures occurred in the University's governance and compliance structure and to make recommendations to help ensure that such failures never happen again," the statement read.

Tuesday morning will feature another round patchy fog. It will be a mild and muggy start with temps in the mid 60s for the city and around 60 for the suburbs. Look for more clouds than sun with highs the low 80s. There could be a few spotty showers during the day.
