PHOENIX -
There's an update on a stabbing at a Scottsdale bar that claimed the life of a Martini Ranch bouncer.
After reviewing surveillance video and conducting interviews, police say Ian MacDonald of Tempe is the prime suspect in the death of Tyrice Thompson.
Officers believe Ian MacDonald stabbed Thompson five times during a fight at Martini Ranch.
Police arrested MacDonald two days after the crime. He admitted to fighting with the bouncers, but denied stabbing Thompson. He was released, for evidence to be reviewed and processed.
Thompson, a former ASU football player, died of his wounds on Saturday. He leaves behind a 1-year-old son, Takai Thompson.
The family of Tyrice Thompson says his funeral is this Sunday at 5 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church at 14th Street and Jefferson in Phoenix.

Charges will be filed once lab results from the scene and from MacDonald come back.
