Four men have been
charged after Travis County Sheriff's Office say they were caught at a cockfight
in the 4800 block of E. Hwy 71.
On Feb. 2 deputies say
they were dispatched to a cockfight in progress. When they arrived at the residence
they found several men gathered in a semi-circle. Deputies say three men ran but
four men stayed.
Deputies found 17
roosters, 15 of them in separate cages, 2 with bloody injuries and two with
padded bindings on one leg.
Jorge Luis Negrete, Puente Jesus Alberto Leyva, Juan
Espinoza,and Raonel Jaimes Aviles, have been charged with cruelty to livestock,
a state jail felony.
