The Austin Police Department is asking for the public's help in solving the city's 26th murder of 2012. On Sunday, October 21, 2012, APD Officers responded to the scene of a crash in the 5700 block of Loyola Lane that left one person dead.
According to preliminary investigation, the occupants of the two vehicles involved in the crash were involved in a verbal altercation in the parking lot of Club Escapade, located at 6575 Decker Lane. The disturbance escalated and, at some point, led to both vehicles traveling westbound on Loyola Lane, when the suspect vehicle rammed the victim's vehicle from behind.
The victim's car was sent off the roadway and into a pole. He was ejected from the vehicle and later transported to the University Medical Center at Brackenridge Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to authorities, the suspect vehicle fled the scene. The vehicle is described as a large white or grey pickup truck, possibly a Ford Super Duty. The truck would have sustained front end damage from the crash. The driver of the vehicle is described as a light-skinned Hispanic male.
