When it comes to happiness in the workplace, hi-tech companies seem to have the market cornered on keeping workers content with great benefits and perks.
We talked with one valley company where thousands apply weekly, hoping to work in a creative and fun atmosphere.
Infusionsoft helps small businesses grow through their marketing program. And they're growing themselves -- once you see this facility, it isn't too hard to understand why potential employees would want to work there.
It looks a lot like the Facebook's and the Google's and the Intel's of the world. Hard-working tech-savvy employees, who thrive in a pretty casual environment, but Chandler's own Infusionsoft says they're one of a kind.
"Everything we do we're serious, we're committed, we want to be successful we also want to be fun and casual and allow for creativity to really flourish," says Kathy Sacks, VP of communications at Infusionsoft.
Kathy Sacks says Infusionsoft's nine core values aren't just a company slogan.
"This is real, this guides our company."
Infusionsoft wants their employees to fulfill their dreams. They help them to do so, even if their dream is eating cereal on the 50 yard line in the middle of the day.
That's right, they've got a mini football field for employees to enjoy, a place to gather, connect, and strategize officially. But that's not all. There's a full cereal bar, with fridge and freezer and beverages, a room with massage chairs, video games and a pool table.
"Just today I met with our dream manager for half an hour and we just sat there and talked about different ideas about the things that I care about," says Preston Smith, "Infusionite."
Whether you work in software development, marketing or customer service, your personal and professional dreams are a priority here. It's just their way of doing business.
"Culture is not about perks, culture is about investing in your people and without our people we have no success," says Sacks. "You can start and build a billion dollar company in a place called Arizona instead of Silicon Valley."
They are loyal to this company, and the benefits are fantastic. It's a tough business that requires employees to focus for long hours so the tradeoff is a culture that allows them to blow off some steam and relax so that they want to come back to work day after day.
The best part -- Infusionsoft is expanding, hoping to add hundreds of jobs over the next couple of years.
