A man has been charged after authorities say he struck a Travis County Sheriff's Office patrol car during a pursuit.
On Jan. 24 the Travis County Sheriff's Office responded to an auto theft in progress in the 15000 block of Ecorio Drive. Deputies say 21-year-old Paul Conrad Hernandez stole a 2011 White Ford Flex.
As Deputies chased Hernandez, he led them into a parking lot of an apartment complex. While Hernandez was heading for the parking lot exit, he struck a deputy's driver side door and mirror as he drove past him.
Deputies say Hernandez continued to evade from five patrol cars. Hernandez was finally stopped at a dead end street. He ran on foot but was apprehended.
Hernandez has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second degree felony.
