Million-Dollar Squatter Stakes Claim In Florida

Posted: Updated:

Living in a $2.5-million home at the age of 23 would be pretty impressive, if it actually belonged to you.

Andrew Barboda is a man living the life of luxury in someone else's five-bedroom, six-bathroom mansion, but he is not breaking any laws to do it.

Barboda used an obscure Florida real estate law to stake his claim on the foreclosed property in Boca Raton, Fla.

Police are not allowed to move him and no one saw him breaking into the house, making it a civil matter.

A handful of adverse possession law cases such as this have come up over the past three years.
