Austin Police have charged two people in the connection with an aggravated robbery that occurred at an apartment complex in North Austin.
Police say on Jan. 4, 20-year-old Dawn Marie Cox lured a man she met on a dating website to an apartment complex located in the 600 block of Masterson Pass.
Cox directed the man to go to her apartment. When he could not find it he returned to his vehicle but noticed two men were walking his way. He told police they made him wary. He drove away and contacted Cox.
She gave him the building and apartment number again and told him that she would be waiting by the door when he arrived. The man turned around and drove back to the same building as before.
Police say as the man was searching for the apartment and Cox, 19-year-old Markell Mathews Myers and another male jumped the victim, beating him with a clam hammer. They also stole the victim's wallet.
The victim sustained a fractured skull and hand.
During the investigation, police learned that the victim's credit card had been used shortly after the robbery. Surveillance video captured Cox and Myers using the victim's credit card.
Cox and Myers have been charged with aggravated robbery and credit card abuse.
