The Longhorns are off to their worst start since 1976 and it just got worse on Monday after their top rebounder injured his right hand during the team's 73-67 loss to Oklahoma.
It was a horrendous start in Norman as Texas committed turnovers on nine of its first 10 possessions including eight straight.
Then with seven minutes left in the first half forward Jonathan Holmes was hit in the right hand by an elbow going for a rebound and was forced to leave with a broken hand.
Holmes is expected to be out three to six weeks.
