Travis County Sheriff's deputies say a family violence incident in northwest Travis County turned into a fatal stabbing Wednesday morning.
The Travis County Sheriff's Office has charged a man with
murder after they say he stabbed his nephew to death.
The incident happened at a residence in the 2000 block of
Big Sandy Drive.
Officials say around 10 a.m. 47-year-old Reggie Tyrone
Horton got into an argument with his nephew, James Michael Prestage, over leaving
the water hose on overnight to water the horses.
Prestage punched Horton in the head with his fist. Horton
then picked up a bicycle rim and struck Prestage with it. The two stopped
fighting when Prestage walked into his bedroom.
Horton grabbed a butcher knife and headed towards Prestage's
room. When he exited Horton stabbed him.
Prestage was transported by STARFlight to a Round Rock
Hospital, where he later passed away.
Horton was charged with murder, a first degree
felony.
