Nutter updates reporters Wednesday night about the ongoing labor negotiations.
PHILADELPHIA -
Mayor Michael Nutter on Wednesday sent a message to the union that if it could not reach an agreement with the city by January 30, then the city would "evaluate our various options to bring an end to this stalemate."
Nutter addressed the ongoing labor negotiations with District Council 33 Wednesday night.
The mayor says his negotiation team met with union representatives earlier Wednesday and provided a revised proposal.
The mayor says the package would provide an increase in take home pay for city employees while also providing pension reform and changes in work rules.
The mayor says the pension reform and changes in work rules would help the city afford the raise in take home pay.
An additional lump sum of $25 million would be contributed by the city to the health and wellness fund over a two-year period.
Nutter says the proposal is the city's final offer.
"This proposal is a final offer to DC33 and that is precisely what we told the union negotiating team earlier today (Wednesday). We have reached a deadlock in these negotiations," Nutter said in a statement.
FOX 29 is working to get a statement from the union.

It feels like summer out there. We're expecting milder temperatures than yesterday: highs in the mid 80s. Just like summer, it'll be humid, with a chance of a few spotty showers during the day.
This pattern stays in place until Thursday, when strong thunderstorms usher in cooler air for the holiday weekend.
