Some Austin ISD students are paying tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr. one essay at a time.
Tuesday marks what would have been King's 84th birthday and this year is the 50th anniversary of when King delivered his legendary "I Have a Dream" speech.
In honor of these special dates students from three Austin ISD schools were selected to write essays based on some of King's quotes giving the students a new perspective about the leader's legacy.
The essays were read at the district's Annual MLK Celebration, which also featured a musical tribute by the Dobie Middle School choir.
