500 take advantage of Mesa's free flu clinic

Posted: Updated:
MESA, Ariz. -

The flu is widespread in our state now, and residents are doing whatever they can to prevent it.

The Mesa Fire Department held a flu shot clinic at Mesa High School Monday night.

Children and adults received free flu shots from 5 to 7 p.m. near the school auditorium.

The clinic ran out of the vaccine after giving shots to over 500 people.

"We've been hearing from the public that the pharmacies are running out that the doctors, pediatricians are running out as well. In response to that we opened up a clinic tonight here at Mesa High School to take care of the community," says Larissa Dvorak, Mesa Fire Department.
