Bronx apartment fire set to cover fatal stabbing

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

The NYPD says officers responded to a call in the Bronx and found a man stabbed to death and his body burned inside an apartment early Saturday morning. 

Officers found 56-year-old Gregory Evans around 6:00 a.m. with stab wounds to his neck and sustained burns to his body on Webster Avenue in the Fordham section.   

Evans was taken to St. Barnabus Hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

A 48-year-old man was arrested for the stabbing near the location on East Fordham Road and Webster Avenue. 

Authorities are investigating whether the suspect started the fire.
