NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

People wearing little more than their underwear are expected to ride the NYC subway system on Sunday.

In an attempt to bring some laughter to commuters' lives, the comedy troupe Improv Everywhere/ We Cause Scenes has organized No Pants Subway Ride 2013.

All ages; all types of all walks of life are asked to participate, according to the troupe.

There will be six meeting spots at subway stations across the Big Apple. Last year, approximately 4,000 people took part in the fun- and legal- event.

More than 60 cities are getting in on the joke including Hong Kong and Buenos Aires.

"The goal of the event is not to offend people; it's just to make them smile and laugh!"

In order to participate, the brave are asked to be willing to take their pants off on the subway and be able to keep a straight face.

"If someone asks, say you forgot your pants," according to the troupe's website.

The fun begins at 3 p.m.
