Freeze watch begins Friday night

A freeze watch has been issued for the Phoenix area from late Friday night through Tuesday morning.

The Phoenix metro area, Wickenburg, Gila Bend, Buckeye, Casa Grande, and Coolidge are affected.

These conditions could destroy or damage plants and other sensitive vegetation, and homeowners are advised to cover them.

Irrigation pipes and water lines are also at risk during extended freezing temperatures.
