PHILADELPHIA -

A $10,000 reward is now being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for slashing nearly 50 tires in West Philadelphia.

Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey on Monday night announced a $5,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the crime.

"We urge anyone with information about this criminal act to come forward and help us put an end to this senseless and hurtful crime," a statement read.

In addition, Fraternal Order of Police President John McNesby offered $5, 000 just for an arrest of the person or group responsible for the crime.

Anyone with information about the tire slashings is asked to call 911 or Southwest Detectives at 215-686-3183.

Police say at least 48 vehicles had their tires slashes in an area of West Philly. The slashed tires were found on Hazel Avenue from the 4900 block to the 5100 block. Cars with slashes tired were also found on the 5300 block of Chancellor Street.
